Special Education Teacher in Hayes, VA

You’ll provide essential instruction and foster growth using adaptive curriculum strategies, working 37.5 hours each week.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher license with adaptive curriculum endorsement
• Experience working with K-5 students in self-contained classrooms preferred
• Strong understanding of diverse learning needs and inclusion practices
• Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct and support K-5 students with varying abilities in a self-contained setting
• Develop curriculum and lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
• Implement adaptive and differentiated instructional strategies to maximize student engagement and growth
• Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and related service providers
• Track and document student progress, adjusting approaches as needed
• Foster a nurturing, structured, and safe learning environment for all students
• Communicate regularly with families regarding goals, progress, and strategies for success
