An elementary school in South Dakota is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support a small group of students with individualized learning needs. This position serves a low caseload and offers strong classroom support, allowing the teacher to focus on high-quality instruction and meaningful progress toward IEP goals.
Work Schedule:

Full-time, 5 days per week

7.5 paid hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch

Typical start time around 7:30 AM

Typical end time around 3:30 PM (daily schedule may vary)
Caseload & Classroom Support:

Approximately 3 students total
-
Students in 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade

Primary needs include Autism Spectrum Disorder and Learning Disabilities
-
Students are higher needs but non-aggressive and do not elope
-
Two paraprofessionals assigned to assist throughout the day
Role Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction aligned with grade-level curriculum

Incorporate functional and life skills instruction as appropriate

Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Monitor and document student progress toward academic and functional goals

Collaborate with paraprofessionals and related service providers

Maintain compliance with state and federal special education requirements
Qualifications:

Valid South Dakota teaching license with Special Education endorsement required

Experience writing and implementing IEPs

Two or more years of recent teaching experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits:

Hourly pay range of $38–$42
