Special Education Teacher | Hayward, California

A school district in California is seeking an enthusiastic Special Education Teacher for a full-time, direct hire position serving a Special Day Class (SDC) caseload of Kindergarten and 1st grade students. This opportunity is available for the remainder of the current school year through the end of the 2024-2025 school year, with an immediate start date. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction to a caseload of Kindergarten and 1st grade students in an SDC classroom.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet student needs.
• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Partner with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
• Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for special education services.
• Maintain ongoing communication with families regarding student progress.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active California Special Education teaching credential (required).
• Experience in Special Day Class (SDC) settings highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Strong classroom management skills and effective communication abilities.
