Special Education Teacher - Hayward, CA

A dynamic school district near Hayward, CA is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher for a direct hire opportunity in a Special Day Class (SDC) for Kindergarten and 1st grade students. This role begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the 2024-2025 academic year, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young learners.

In this position, you’ll:

• Provide specialized instruction to a K-1st grade SDC caseload
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to the individual needs of students
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff
• Offer academic, social, and emotional support to students
• Ensure adherence to federal and state special education requirements

To be considered, candidates should have:

• A current and active California Special Education teaching credential
• Experience teaching in a Special Day Class (SDC) environment preferred
• Excellent classroom management and communication abilities
• The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families
