Special Education Teacher in Hayward, CA

A California school district is seeking a dedicated full-time Special Education Teacher to serve Kindergarten and 1st grade students in a Special Day Class (SDC) setting. This direct hire opportunity is available for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year with an immediate start date.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver instruction to a caseload of K-1 students within an SDC classroom.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique needs.
• Adapt and modify curriculum and teaching strategies to support diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff.
• Provide academic, social, and emotional support to foster student growth and development.
• Ensure compliance with all federal and state special education laws and district policies.

Qualifications

• Active Special Education teaching credential valid in California.
• Previous experience working with students in Special Day Class settings preferred.
• Strong collaboration skills to work closely with staff, students, and families.
• Excellent classroom management abilities and clear communication skills.
