An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher with expertise as an Educational Specialist to support students in a school setting. This full-time, permanent position is based in the Oakland, CA area and covers the remainder of the current school year.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities
- Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success and inclusion
- Monitoring and documenting student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal special education regulations and guidelines
- Providing direct instruction and support to students across various disabilities, fostering a supportive and effective learning environment
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Valid Special Education credential (Educational Specialist) recognized in California
- Proven experience teaching students with diverse learning needs within a K–12 setting
- Knowledge of assessment tools and techniques for special education students
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with families, teachers, and administration
- Commitment to student advocacy and differentiated instruction
