Special Education Teacher - Hayward, California

Key Qualifications:

• Valid CTC credential with authorization for Moderate/Severe (Mod/Severe) special education required
• Experience with high school-aged students preferred
• Confidence in managing caseloads of either Mod/Severe or Mild/Moderate (RSP) students
• Comfortable developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong collaboration skills to work with fellow educators, therapists, and families
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills to meet varying classroom and student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instructional support using evidence-based strategies tailored to each student’s needs
• Manage a high school caseload, focusing on either Mod/Severe or Mild/Moderate/RSP students
• Design and monitor IEPs, ensuring progress toward academic and behavioral goals
• Foster a safe, supportive classroom environment that encourages growth and inclusion
• Communicate regularly and effectively with students’ support networks (families, therapists, and staff)
• Track and report on student progress and adapt teaching approaches as needed
