This contract opportunity focuses on providing adapted curriculum and intensive intervention for a small group of 2nd and 3rd graders. You'll work with approximately ten students in a supportive classroom, alongside two experienced teaching assistants. The school operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, for a total of 40 hours per week.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current and valid teaching license, certified in Special Education
  • Experience teaching at the elementary level, particularly with 2nd or 3rd grade students
  • Knowledge of adapted or modified curriculum and intensive intervention strategies
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Strong communication skills with students, staff, and families
  • Commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive classroom atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to diverse learning needs
  • Utilize a variety of strategies and materials to adapt curriculum for intensive intervention
  • Collaborate closely with two teaching assistants to maximize student support
  • Monitor, assess, and document student progress toward IEP goals
  • Communicate regularly with families and specialist staff regarding student development
  • Create a structured, positive classroom culture that promotes growth and confidence
