2nd Grade Certified Special Education Teacher | Hazelwood, North Carolina

You’ll work with an enthusiastic group of approximately 10 students in 2nd and 3rd grades, providing tailored instruction and intensive interventions within an adaptive curriculum. Located near Hazelwood, NC, this contract opportunity offers a collaborative atmosphere, including the partnership of two dedicated teaching assistants.

Key Qualifications:

• Current and valid teaching license with Special Education certification
• Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in 2nd and/or 3rd grade
• Knowledge of adapted curriculum and experience implementing intensive academic or behavioral interventions
• Strong collaborative skills and the ability to partner effectively with instructional assistants
• Exceptional communication abilities for engaging with students, families, and team members

Your Role:

• Plan and deliver differentiated instruction suited to various learning styles and student needs
• Work closely with two teaching assistants to ensure the success of all students in your classroom
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to promote academic growth and independence
• Communicate regularly with families about student successes, needs, and ongoing support
• Maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
