This role involves working with students ranging from preschool to high school in various settings, including co-taught resource rooms and multi-categorical self-contained classrooms. The assignment follows the academic calendar from late July 2026 through late May 2027, with a workload of 35–37.5 hours per week, plus a unique part-time middle school option.
Necessary Qualifications:
- Active South Carolina SPED Teacher License with Multi-Categorical or required certifications
- Prior experience in elementary, middle, or high school special education environments
- Flexibility to adapt to both self-contained, resource, and co-taught classroom models
- Commitment to onsite instruction, with VOCO (virtual option) possibly considered closer to school start
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working within multi-disciplinary teams
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver structured, individualized instruction aligned to IEPs in assigned classrooms
- Foster a positive, supportive environment to enhance students’ educational, social, and emotional growth
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and regular communication with families and staff
- Adapt resources and teaching methods for multi-cat/self-contained or resource classrooms as assigned
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, in-service trainings, and ongoing professional development
