This contract opportunity offers a chance to support learners from preschool to high school, making a meaningful impact in a variety of educational settings for the upcoming academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education Teacher License, including Multi-Categorical or appropriate certifications
- Experience working within special education settings, including self-contained, moderate, and co-taught resource classrooms
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
- Enthusiasm for working in elementary, middle, high, or preschool settings
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student
- Support students in moderate/severe settings, self-contained classrooms, and co-taught resource environments
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and related service providers
- Utilize data-driven instruction and regular assessments to monitor student progress
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment focused on student growth and achievement
- Communicate regularly with families about progress and initiatives
- Flexibility to work full-time or part-time hours depending on assignment
Roles available:
- Elementary: 8:30am-3:35pm, Special Setting 2, moderate to co-taught resource rooms
- Middle School: 7:30am-2:45pm; includes 1 part-time (18-20 hours/week) co-taught resource position, self-contained to co-taught settings
- High School: 8:30am-3:35pm, co-taught resource roles
- Preschool: Hours to be determined, onsite roles preferred
