Special Education Teacher | Hemingway, South Carolina

Empower young learners and make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a resource setting. This contract position runs from as soon as possible through May 21, 2027, providing you with consistency and the opportunity to build strong relationships with students and colleagues over multiple academic years. Your role will focus on delivering high-quality, individualized instruction to elementary students, ensuring they have the support and advocacy needed to thrive.

Schedule & Setting:

• Monday through Friday, 7:15am – 2:45pm (37.5 hours per week)
• Work with an elementary school resource caseload in a collaborative, student-centered environment

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current Special Education Teacher license issued by the state of South Carolina (required, no exceptions)
• Prior experience working with elementary-level resource caseloads preferred
• Strong knowledge of developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Adaptability, patience, and creativity in instructional methods

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse instructional needs in a resource classroom
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
• Utilize assessment data and best practices to adapt lessons and support student growth
• Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and families to promote student success
• Maintain detailed records and comply with all documentation and reporting requirements
