Special Education Teacher - Henderson, NC

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students with mild to moderate needs. Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching license required with appropriate Special Education endorsement
• Experience working with middle school students in a self-contained setting strongly preferred
• Deep understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet varying learning styles and needs
• Passion for advocating for students and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging instruction to a small caseload of approximately 12 students in a self-contained classroom
• Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collect data and track progress on academic, behavioral, and social goals
• Partner with related service providers, parents, and team members to ensure student success
• Assist in the creation of a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and school policies
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions
