Special Education Teacher in Henderson, NC

Shape young minds and make a positive difference as a Special Education Teacher in a rewarding K-8 setting. This full-time contract position is available immediately through June 4, 2027, supporting students in both a middle school self-contained classroom (non-severe) and elementary K-5 resource environment. You'll partner with a dedicated team striving to provide inclusive, supportive education for students with exceptional needs.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Special Education teaching license (or eligibility for licensure)
• Experience with self-contained classrooms and/or resource support, preferably in K-8 settings
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to individualize instruction
• Skilled in IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance documentation
• Familiarity with strategies for diverse learning and behavioral needs
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families and multidisciplinary staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction, intervention, and behavioral support to students with special needs
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student goals and state requirements
• Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles
• Track student progress, prepare reports, and participate in IEP meetings
• Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to promote student success

This is a full-time commitment, Monday through Friday, from 7:15am to 3:15pm, offering meaningful connections with students and the opportunity for professional growth in a supportive school community.
