Special Education Teacher in Henderson, NC

Key Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teacher certification (please submit with your application)
• Prior experience with self-contained classrooms or comparable settings
• Expertise in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Passionate about advocating for and supporting students with diverse needs
• Ability to work onsite full-time (exclusively in-person role)

Role Responsibilities:

• Teach and manage a classroom of nine elementary students in a self-contained special education environment
• Partner daily with two talented teaching assistants to support student engagement and safety
• Design lesson plans and adapt curriculum to suit individual student goals and IEP requirements
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom atmosphere
• Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and provide ongoing feedback to stakeholders
• Engage with parents, service providers, and school staff to ensure a cohesive support system

You’ll work a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours. In addition, this contract offers an attractive pay rate of $75 per hour, giving you the opportunity to deliver vital educational services while being well-compensated for your skills and experience.
