Special Education Teacher | Hickory, North Carolina

A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher ready to make a difference in an elementary setting. This contract position focuses on Adaptive Exceptional Children (EC) programming, supporting a small group of 7-8 students in a collaborative learning environment. The role runs full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, and is open for immediate start through late May.

The selected teacher will collaborate closely with two dedicated paraprofessionals, fostering a supportive classroom culture to meet diverse student needs. Qualifications:

• Valid North Carolina Adaptive EC License (required)
• Demonstrated experience teaching in adaptive special education settings
• Understanding of individualized instruction and IEP implementation

• Ability to foster an inclusive, encouraging environment for elementary students

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver adaptive curriculum and differentiated instruction for elementary EC students
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals to provide comprehensive support and behavioral management
• Implement and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Track and report on student progress, adapting strategies as needed
• Engage regularly with families and school professionals to ensure continuity of care and instruction
