Special Education Teacher - Hickory, North Carolina

Step into a full-time role working with a small caseload of 7-8 students, supported by two dedicated paraprofessionals.

This assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through May 26, offering a fantastic chance to foster growth, provide individualized learning, and collaborate closely within a nurturing educational community.

Qualifications:

• Valid North Carolina Adaptive EC (Exceptional Children) license is required
• Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher in an adaptive or EC setting preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with paraprofessionals, students, and families
• Passion for creating tailored instructional plans and supporting a diverse range of student needs
• Dedication to maintaining a compassionate, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver adaptive instruction and implement IEPs for elementary students with diverse needs
• Collaborate with two paraprofessionals to provide maximum support and engagement
• Monitor student progress, maintain documentation, and adjust instruction as needed
• Foster social, emotional, and academic growth in a safe classroom setting
• Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and related service providers
