Required Qualifications & Experience:

• North Carolina General Curriculum Certificate for K-12 (must have)
• Experience as a Special Education Teacher (elementary and middle grades preferred)
• Familiarity with inclusive classrooms, resource models, and differentiated instruction
• Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and accommodations
• Ability to work collaboratively with general educators, specialists, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students with a variety of needs in K-8 settings, with caseloads typically ranging from 15–20 (maximum 25)
• Implement and adapt curriculum content to support students performing approximately three grade levels below their peers
• Develop, monitor, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Lead and participate in the launch and integration of the new Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) program
• Gather data and communicate student progress regularly with parents, teachers, and support staff
• Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
