Key Qualifications:

  • Current experience as a Special Education Teacher, ideally in school settings
  • Proficient in sign language, with a minimum EIPA score of 3.5 (candidates with a 3.3 will also be considered)
  • Skilled at providing individualized support to students with diverse learning needs
  • Ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and other educational staff
  • Comfortable working full-time onsite (40 hours per week)
  • Professional, reliable, and flexible mindset

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 interpreting services for an elementary student, both in classroom settings and during school-related activities
  • Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers, supporting full participation in the academic experience
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and special education professionals to adapt instructional materials as needed
  • Maintain a supportive, respectful environment that encourages student growth and confidence
  • Document student progress and provide feedback to the educational team as needed
