Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current state certification in Special Education, or eligibility to obtain
  • Experience working with middle school students (grades 6–8)
  • Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution-focused approach
  • Organizational skills for documentation, data tracking, and lesson planning
  • Flexibility and creativity in adapting instructional methods to diverse learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in your caseload
  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to a range of learning abilities and needs
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers and staff to support inclusion and student success
  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide regular updates to families and team members
  • Foster a safe, positive, and encouraging classroom where students feel valued
  • Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school activities as required
  • Advocate for your students and communicate regularly with parents or guardians
