Special Education Teacher in Hilton Head Island, SC

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in the Bluffton area for the upcoming 2026/2027 school year. This onsite position spans three vital openings: Intensive Support at the elementary level and Supplemental (Resource) roles at both high school and middle school settings. Each position is designed to provide specialized instruction and individualized support, directly impacting the academic and social growth of students with diverse learning needs.

Your expertise in special education will help create an engaging and inclusive learning environment for students at the elementary, middle, or high school setting. You’ll work collaboratively with dedicated education professionals and support staff to tailor instructional strategies, implement IEPs, and measure student progress.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification for South Carolina (or eligibility to obtain)
• Prior experience working with students in an intensive support and/or resource classroom preferred
• Proficiency developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, service providers, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt to different school settings and meet the unique needs of each student

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction, intervention, and classroom management for students requiring intensive and/or supplemental support
• Develop and implement IEPs, collect data and monitor progress toward goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related services providers
• Foster a supportive classroom culture that promotes inclusion and student success
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress

You’ll work a consistent weekday schedule totaling 37.5 hours per week, providing stability and routine throughout the school year.
