This contract opportunity is located near Hodges, SC, with a variety of placements to match your expertise and interests:

Available Positions:

  • Core SPED Team Member: Collaborate with fellow special educators to deliver co-teaching, inclusion services, academic interventions, and supplemental instruction.
  • Resource/Academic Seminar: Offer support and guided instruction to students in resource settings, focusing on targeted academic strategies.
  • Transition Teacher: Facilitate job placements and community integration, along with direct classroom instruction and IEP management for students transitioning to post-school life.
  • 5K Transition Teacher: Lead a self-contained classroom for kindergarten students with disabilities, supported by two assistants as students transition to inclusion settings.
  • Self-Contained Middle Grades: Manage a moderate disabilities classroom (grades 6-8) with two assistants, providing structure, care, and innovative learning experiences.

Ideal Candidates Will Hold:

  • Valid state certification in Special Education (or eligible to obtain).
  • Previous teaching experience in special education settings is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with co-teaching, differentiated instruction, and legal compliance in SPED.
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and classroom management skills.
  • Passion for helping all students succeed, with adaptability and patience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction according to student needs and IEPs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote inclusive education.
  • Maintain documentation, monitor progress, and adjust instruction as needed.
