Empower students and collaborate with a passionate team as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive school environment. This contract opportunity involves various openings for educators dedicated to inclusive and personalized instruction. Roles include co-teaching, academic support, resource-based instruction, and specialized work in self-contained classrooms and transition programs.

Opportunities available:

  • Core positions: Work collaboratively within a team of special education teachers to deliver co-teaching/inclusion, direct academic instruction, and supplemental pull-out services.
  • Resource/Academic Seminar: Provide academic support and intervention services tailored to student needs.
  • Transition Teacher: Coordinate job placements, deliver instruction on life and vocational skills, and complete IEPs for students preparing to transition into adult and work environments.
  • Self-contained classrooms: Lead classes for K5 students with disabilities (supported by two assistants, facilitating gradual inclusion) and for students in grades 6-8 with moderate disabilities (also supported by two assistants).

Desired skills and background:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching credential or eligibility.
  • Experience with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with teams of general and special educators, support staff, and families.
  • Creativity and flexibility in adapting instructional strategies to diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Passion for advocacy, problem-solving, and ensuring student growth.
  • Previous experience in self-contained or inclusive classroom settings is valuable.
