Seeking a passionate educator with expertise in special education to work in an engaging, school-based environment for the upcoming academic year. This full-time contract role is ideal for professionals who thrive in a collaborative setting and are committed to supporting elementary students’ unique learning journeys.
As an instructional leader, you will guide a small group of students in grades 3 and 4 within a dedicated special education classroom. The chosen candidate will help foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom atmosphere while delivering individualized instruction to meet diverse academic and behavioral needs.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Illinois teaching license and Special Education certification required
- Prior school-based experience is essential
- Background working with elementary-age students, particularly within special education instructional settings
- Ability to collaborate with support staff, administrators, and families to craft effective learning plans
- Strong communication, organizational, and compassion-driven classroom management skills
- Commitment to accommodating a variety of learning styles and adapting lesson plans accordingly
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and modify curriculum for a caseload of five students in grades 3 and 4
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress, IEP goals, and communication with team members
- Foster a safe, positive learning environment that encourages self-advocacy and independence
- Work closely with colleagues and parents to monitor progress and adjust strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing development of support plans
Enjoy consistent hours from 8:40 AM to 3:25 PM, Monday through Friday, for a total of 37.5 hours each week. The assignment runs from August 26, 2026 through June 3, 2027. Candidates must be available for a 30-minute interview as part of the hiring process.
