Key Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana Special Education Early Intervention (Birth-5) Certificate required
- Strong knowledge of special education law, compliance, and best practices
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs for young children
- Familiarity with PreK/Kindergarten curriculum and instructional strategies
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary educational team
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to the unique needs of each student
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
- Deliver effective instruction using age-appropriate and differentiated methods
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with special education regulations
- Assess student progress and modify interventions as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and independence for all learners
This part-time role is approximately 16 hours per week—4 hours a day, 4 days per week—providing an ideal balance for dedicated educators seeking flexibility while making a real impact.
