Special Education Teacher - Homer, Louisiana

Make a meaningful difference by supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher working with PreK and Kindergarten students. Key Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana Special Education Early Intervention (Birth-5) Certificate required
• Strong knowledge of special education law, compliance, and best practices
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs for young children
• Familiarity with PreK/Kindergarten curriculum and instructional strategies
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary educational team
• Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to the unique needs of each student
• Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
• Deliver effective instruction using age-appropriate and differentiated methods
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with special education regulations
• Assess student progress and modify interventions as needed
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and independence for all learners

This part-time role is approximately 16 hours per week—4 hours a day, 4 days per week—providing an ideal balance for dedicated educators seeking flexibility while making a real impact.
