Special Education Teacher in Hopkins, MN

Make an impact this school year as a Special Education Teacher in a high school environment, supporting multicategorical students near Hopkins, MN. This contract position runs the full school year, with daytime hours from 8am to 4pm, offering you consistency and a chance to truly connect with your students.

As a Special Education Teacher, you'll primarily work with 1-2 students at a time, supporting youth with a variety of disabilities. You’ll have the option to focus your expertise on high school-level reading or math, providing targeted instruction that helps each learner thrive. Your day-to-day work will involve creating and implementing individualized educational plans, collaborating with an engaged team of professionals, and celebrating your students’ progress along the way.

Qualifications we’re seeking:

• Valid Special Education licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience supporting high school students with diverse learning needs
• Deep understanding of IEP processes and documentation
• Ability to tailor instruction for a range of disabilities
• Strong skills in either high school reading or math instruction
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to inclusive education
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Daily responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing individualized lessons for small group and 1:1 instruction
• Monitoring and recording student progress toward academic and behavioral goals
• Collaborating closely with general education teachers and support staff
• Maintaining regular communication with families and IEP teams
• Adapting materials and methods to meet diverse learning styles
• Creating a positive, encouraging classroom culture
