Special Education Teacher | Hoquiam, Washington

Make a difference every day by guiding and supporting young learners in grades 2 through 5 as a dedicated Special Education Teacher. Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), adapting lessons to meet diverse student needs, tracking progress, and collaborating with general education teachers, specialists, and families. Your daily work will help shape an environment where every student feels empowered and supported to reach their potential.

Desired Experience and Skills:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience with elementary-age students, preferably grades 2-5
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Familiarity with a variety of instructional strategies and classroom management techniques
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
• Organizational skills to manage a caseload of approximately 30-35 students
• Flexible, compassionate, and dedicated to student success

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging lessons that accommodate different learning needs
• Develop and manage IEPs, maintaining accurate records and progress reports
• Work collaboratively with teachers, aides, and family members to support student development
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Monitor and assess student progress, making necessary instructional adjustments
