Special Education Teacher in Hoquiam, WA

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility) for the state of Washington
• Previous experience working with elementary-age students, especially those with diverse learning needs
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with differentiated instruction and behavior management techniques
• Ability to foster a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver lessons tailored to individual students’ strengths and learning goals
• Manage a caseload of 30-35 students across grades 2-5
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to implement IEPs
• Track progress, document outcomes, and participate in eligibility and review meetings
• Create an inclusive atmosphere where all students feel valued and respected
