Embark on a rewarding contract assignment supporting students' growth and development as a Special Education Teacher in a well-established educational environment. This in-person role begins in September and focuses on serving 11th-12th grade students with Emotional Disabilities over a 6-8 week period. With a 35-hour work week, you’ll work closely with a caring team to create an inclusive and productive classroom setting.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active New York State Special Education Teaching license with all required certifications and endorsements
  • Demonstrated experience working with high school students, particularly those with Emotional Disabilities
  • Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with fellow educators, staff, and families
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and structured environment for all learners

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to high school students in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and collaborate on regular evaluations and team meetings
  • Adapt teaching approaches and materials to meet students’ unique learning and emotional needs
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging academic and personal growth
  • Communicate regularly with family members and support staff to ensure consistency and comprehensive care
