Special Education Teacher | Horseshoe Bay, Texas

In this rewarding contract opportunity, you’ll support elementary students (grades 2nd–5th) as a Special Education Teacher focusing on life-skills development. Working full-time from 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM, you will play a vital role in shaping students’ educational paths within a collaborative, student-centered environment near Horseshoe Bay, TX.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (appropriate for elementary level)
• Previous experience as a case manager in a school setting
• Skilled in writing and managing IEPs using Frontline or similar platforms
• Experience with life-skills curriculum for elementary-aged students preferred
• SAMA (restraint) training or willingness to complete district-provided certification
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
• Ability to work effectively with paraprofessionals, related service staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and supports to students in life-skills classrooms (grades 2–5)
• Manage and implement IEPs, collaborating with staff and families to promote student success
• Serve as case manager for assigned students, maintaining compliance and thorough documentation
• Support an inclusive, respectful classroom culture
• Coordinate with paraprofessional staff and delegate duties, including assisting with after-school dismissal (with potential para support)
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and maintain detailed records in Frontline
• Ensure safe, supportive handling and de-escalation techniques in accordance with SAMA training
