Special Education Teacher - Huntersville, North Carolina

Step into a meaningful role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a resource setting for K-2 students. In this contract position, you'll collaborate closely with a dedicated Teacher’s Assistant and provide high-quality instruction to a diverse group of exceptional learners within a general education environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching license in Special Education or eligibility for certification.
• Experience working with K-2 students, preferably in a resource or inclusive setting.
• Strong understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and best practices in special education.
• Proven ability to differentiate instruction for students with varied learning needs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with general education staff, families, and support personnel.

Core Responsibilities:

• Support 16-20 students by developing and delivering tailored lessons aligned with IEP goals.
• Collaborate with the EC Teacher’s Assistant to adapt materials and modify activities for individual learners.
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and track outcomes to adjust learning strategies as needed.
• Work within the general education classroom alongside colleagues to promote inclusion.
• Engage in ongoing communication with families and related service providers.
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development sessions, and school-based team initiatives.
