Special Education Teacher in Huntersville, NC

A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher to support 8th grade students with mild to moderate needs in a supportive environment. This full-time role is ideal for passionate educators who excel at fostering student growth in Math and Reading—delivering both inclusion support and specialized resource instruction.

You'll work Monday through Friday, 7:15am-3:15pm, providing tailored interventions for a caseload of 16 students. Your ability to create engaging lesson plans and adapt strategies for diverse learning styles will directly impact each student's confidence and academic success.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Prior experience supporting middle school students, preferably 8th grade
• Strong knowledge of Math and Reading instructional strategies
• Experience with both inclusion settings and resource room environments
• Ability to manage caseload paperwork and collaborate with IEP teams

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted Math and Reading instruction to students with mild/moderate exceptional needs
• Implement and monitor IEP goals, adjusting instruction as required for individual learning plans
• Work collaboratively with general education teachers to provide inclusion support
• Utilize creative approaches to foster engagement and academic growth
• Maintain communication with families and staff to ensure student progress
• Collect and document student data to support compliance and growth tracking
