Special Education Teacher in Huntersville, NC

Openings include a K-2 Resource teacher position focused on supporting young learners with mild to moderate needs, and a high school Resource/OCS educator working primarily with 9th and 10th graders. The high school role involves supporting students on the occupational course of study pathway—guiding them toward independence and valuable work skills as they prepare for life beyond graduation.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in special education
• Experience or strong interest in resource room instruction for K-2 or secondary students
• Skilled in creating inclusive, supportive, and adaptive learning environments
• Comfortable with IEP development, progress monitoring, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• For high school role: experience or passion for OCS, life skills, or work readiness highly valued
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver targeted instruction aligned with each student’s IEP
• Foster a positive classroom culture that celebrates individual strengths
• Track student progress and adjust strategies to meet evolving needs
• Collaborate with general educators, related service providers, and families
