Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher required
  • Demonstrated experience working with students exhibiting severe behavioral challenges
  • Experience with Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) techniques strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and data-driven behavior plans
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to addressing each student's unique needs
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with staff and families

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to four elementary students with severe behavioral needs
  • Develop and implement individualized education and behavior intervention plans
  • Employ evidence-based strategies to create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with related service providers, general education teachers, and administrators
  • Regularly document student progress and proactively communicate with caregivers and team members
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current in best practices for special education and behavioral interventions
