Key Qualifications:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with high school students, preferably those on the autism spectrum
- Knowledge of SPED best practices and curriculum adaptation
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Willingness to perform toileting or personal care duties as needed
- Ability to work onsite full-time
Primary Duties:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for students with autism
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere
- Adapt lesson plans and instructional materials to meet diverse student needs
- Collaborate with fellow educators, therapists, and families to support each student’s goals
- Monitor student progress and document both academic and behavioral outcomes
- Encourage independence and self-advocacy in students
- Address personal care needs, including toileting, with empathy and respect to promote dignity
