Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (required).
- Experience working with high school students, particularly those on the autism spectrum, is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and modification.
- Ability to assess student needs and adapt instruction accordingly.
- Patient, compassionate, and collaborative work ethic.
- Willingness to assist with toileting needs as required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with autism in a high school setting.
- Develop, modify, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure students' educational and developmental needs are met.
- Monitor and document student progress, applying data-driven adjustments as needed.
- Support students with daily tasks, including possible toileting assistance.
- Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence and self-advocacy.
