Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or related field
• Experience working with students with a range of learning differences and exceptionalities
• Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
• Patience, empathy, and a collaborative approach to working with students, families, and staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, adapt, and deliver engaging lessons to meet the individual needs of students in accordance with their IEPs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and parents/guardians to ensure appropriate supports
• Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate and thorough documentation
• Contribute to IEP meetings, goal setting, and educational planning for assigned students
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture that fosters academic achievement and social-emotional growth
• Implement classroom management strategies and positive behavior interventions
