Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Must hold valid MSDE Special Education Teacher certification.
  • Experience supporting early childhood students preferred.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work independently in various school settings.
  • No travel restrictions; comfortable working across multiple locations within a defined area.
  • Commitment to individualized instruction and inclusive environments.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide itinerant special education services to early childhood students, supporting both classroom and individualized learning environments.
  • Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to ensure appropriate adaptations and instructional strategies.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, planning and delivering instruction tailored to diverse learner profiles.
  • Serve as an advocate for young students with disabilities, working closely with families and related service providers.
  • Travel between assigned school locations throughout the workday; travel time is included as part of your work hours.
