Special Education Teacher in Independence, MO

This contract position is set to begin August 11, 2026, and continues through May 28, 2027. Your assignment will focus on serving K-5th grade students with diverse and mixed caseloads—no need to speak French, but you'll contribute to an inclusive, multicultural learning environment at a single school site.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education (SPED) certification required
• Previous experience with K-5th grade preferred
• Proven ability to support students with a range of mild to severe needs
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs

• Document progress, maintain all compliance paperwork, and participate in eligibility and IEP meetings
