Special Education Teacher - Independence, Missouri

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Missouri Special Education Teacher certification required
• Experience working with K-12 students in a Special Education setting
• Solid understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Ability to perform all standard duties of a Special Education Teacher
• Commitment to upholding professional standards, ethical practices, and confidentiality
• Demonstrated growth mindset, strong work ethic, and positive attitude

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized instruction tailored to students' needs, supporting both academic and functional goals
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans based on IEP objectives
• Collaborate with general educators, therapists, and administration to ensure inclusive and appropriate educational access
• Conduct assessments and participate in IEP meetings, tracking student progress and communicating with families

• Maintain accurate records and comply with all state and federal Special Education regulations
