Special Education Teacher in Indianapolis, IN

We're seeking passionate educators for contract positions supporting students’ unique learning needs through adaptive instruction and compassion-driven engagement. Two roles are available: Life Skills Teacher (Moderate Intervention) and Structured Teach (Autism Support) Teacher (Mild Intervention).

Qualifications/Preferred Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher license for the state of Indiana
• Moderate Intervention certification for Life Skills role
• Mild Intervention certification for Structured Teach/Autism Support role
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Experience working with students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction tailored to students’ individual education plans (IEPs)
• Foster a supportive, engaging, and structured classroom environment for students in your caseload (approximately 10–15)
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and therapists to support student success
• Facilitate both academic and functional life skills development (Life Skills position)
• Offer behavioral and social-emotional support, especially for students with autism spectrum disorder (Structured Teach position)
• Utilize evidence-based strategies and data-driven decision making
• Participate in parent conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and required documentation

Schedules:

• Life Skills Teacher: 7:20 a.m. – 3:10 p.m.
• Structured Teach (Autism Support): 8:20 a.m. – 4:10 p.m.
