Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Valid Special Education Teaching license (or eligibility for licensure)
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged students in a life skills or special education capacity preferred
• Understanding of IEP processes and ability to adapt curriculum to meet individual needs
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Genuine enthusiasm for supporting students with a wide range of abilities

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans targeting life skills, academics, and social-emotional growth
• Facilitate a positive classroom environment built on respect, encouragement, and high expectations
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records, adapting strategies based on outcomes
• Work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and families to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting for student growth
• Assist students in developing communication, independence, and daily living skills for success in and beyond the classroom
