Special Education Teacher - Ionia, Michigan

This Special Education Teacher role begins as soon as possible and continues through December 18, 2026, offering 25 to 30 hours per week. You’ll work closely alongside an experienced paraprofessional in a supportive school environment near Ionia, MI.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with elementary students, especially those with individualized learning needs
• Skill in developing and following IEPs
• Commitment to building a nurturing, encouraging learning environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• EL (English Learner) endorsement is a plus, but not required

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver personalized instruction aligned with the student’s IEP
• Foster academic, behavioral, and social development through supportive, targeted teaching
• Collaborate with a paraprofessional and the assessment team to adapt strategies as needed
• Monitor and document student progress, communicating updates with staff and family
