Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid state-issued Special Education teaching certification
• Experience in a self-contained classroom preferred
• Strong knowledge of individualized education program (IEP) processes
• Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet diverse student needs
• Effective communication skills to work closely with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Experience at the elementary or middle school level is an asset

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to each student’s IEP goals
• Create and maintain a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment
• Collaborate with support staff, general education teachers, and related service providers
• Conduct ongoing assessments, collect data, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Build strong relationships with parents and guardians to support student success
