Job Overview

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join a supportive school district in the Irmo, SC area. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping students with diverse learning needs achieve academic, social, and behavioral success through individualized instruction and evidence-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with established educational goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, school administrators, related service providers, and families to support student achievement.
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
• Adapt curriculum, instructional methods, and classroom materials to meet diverse student needs.
• Conduct assessments and utilize data-driven practices to inform instruction and intervention strategies.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation required by district, state, and federal guidelines.
• Support positive student behavior through classroom management techniques and behavior intervention plans.
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, professional development opportunities, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Foster an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment that promotes student growth and independence.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Active South Carolina Special Education Teaching Certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs preferred.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Previous school-based experience preferred, but qualified new graduates are encouraged to apply.
