Special Education Teacher - Irving, Texas

You’ll help foster growth and engagement in specialized classroom environments—whether supporting life skills, autism, behavior, medically fragile, or TLC/Total Language classrooms—working with small groups, facilitating inclusion in activities like lunch, art, and PE.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Valid Texas Special Education (EC-12) Certificate
• Willingness to complete fingerprinting through TEA if not recently cleared
• Dedication to meeting the unique needs of diverse learners
• Collaborative spirit to work closely with paraprofessionals, nurses, and other educators
• Effective communication with caregivers and school teams

What You'll Do:

• Create and implement individualized instructional plans in a self-contained classroom
• Use innovative strategies to engage students with varying exceptionalities
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student supports
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting methods as needed
• Facilitate group rotations and inclusion in school-wide activities
• Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
• Partner with support staff to address behavioral, social, and emotional goals
