Special Education Teacher in Irving, TX

You’ll help foster growth and independence, working in one of several dynamic classroom environments—life skills, autism support, behavior intervention, or Total Language Classrooms. Depending on your preference and background, you could be assigned to support students at Rutherford Elementary (TLC/Total Language Classroom, self-contained), Mackey Elementary (TLC/Total Language Classroom, self-contained), or JR Thompson Elementary (Life Skills).

Qualifications & Experience:

• Accredited bachelor’s degree
• Valid Texas Special Education (EC-12) teaching certificate
• Experience working in self-contained or specialized classrooms preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Dedication to positive behavior strategies and inclusive practices
• Must complete TEA fingerprinting unless already cleared within another Texas public school district (results typically within 7 days)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to meet the diverse academic, emotional, and behavioral needs of your assigned caseload
• Implement IEPs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Maintain documentation and participate in parent meetings and ARD/IEP committees
• Cultivate an engaging, structured, and supportive classroom atmosphere
