Make a lasting impact as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive, Functional Life Skills classroom environment. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students from PK3 through 8th grade, delivering meaningful instruction and individualized support. The assignment begins August 13, 2026, and runs through November 5th—with the possibility of extension until the Christmas break based on district needs and your start date. Multiple campus locations in the greater Irving area offer flexibility and the chance to work alongside dedicated educational professionals.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching credentials or state certification
- Experience delivering instruction within a Functional Life Skills classroom or similar setting
- Familiarity with special education documentation, IEP development, and progress monitoring
- Strong classroom management and collaborative skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction for students with moderate to significant disabilities
- Organized, adaptable, and able to communicate effectively with families and staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and adapt curriculum and life skills training for students in PK3-8th grade
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, adapting lesson strategies as needed
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general education staff
- Participate in campus-based meetings, professional development, and IEP sessions
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive
