Special Education Teacher - Irving, Texas

Bring your passion for supporting students to a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in a Functional Life Skills classroom. This contract role will have you impacting young learners from PK3 through 8th grade across multiple campuses, working with a dedicated team of educators. The assignment is set to begin on August 13, 2026, with a scheduled end date of November 5th—there may be an option to extend through the Christmas break, depending on the start date.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working in a Functional Life Skills or similar specialized setting
• Ability to provide differentiated instruction to students with diverse abilities
• Strong commitment to inclusion and fostering an empowering classroom environment
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, families, and support staff
• Flexibility to support multiple grade levels and adapt to different campus environments
• Strong organizational skills to manage student IEPs, progress tracking, and classroom routines

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to varying student needs
• Implement IEPs, collect data on student progress, and participate in IEP meetings
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning space focused on real-world skill development
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education teachers
• Communicate regularly with families, providing updates and resources
• Maintain documentation, follow program guidelines, and support a culture of continuous improvement
