Special Education Teacher - Irving, Texas

There are two specialized roles available at a vibrant local high school:

Open Positions:

• Math Resource Teacher: Requires a valid Special Education (SPED) Certification and Math Certification; focus on providing targeted math interventions and support.
• Academic Vocational Life Skills Teacher: Must hold a SPED Certification along with certification in a core subject area; concentrate on adaptive academics, vocational preparation, and life skills for students with diverse learning needs.

Key Qualifications:

• Current and valid Texas Special Education Certification.
• For the Math Resource Teacher: Active Math teaching certification.
• For the Academic Vocational Life Skills Teacher: Certification in any core content area.
• Previous experience in a similar instructional environment; highlight direct experience with comparable student populations and caseloads in your application.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment.

Your Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized instruction tailored to students’ IEPs.
• Collaborate with general education staff, service providers, and families.
• Create and adapt instructional resources for diverse learners.
• Monitor progress and maintain comprehensive records.
