Special Education Teacher | Irwin, Pennsylvania

Help shape young lives as a contract Special Education Teacher, supporting students with autism as part of a vibrant school community near Irwin, PA. This full-time, onsite opportunity is designed for dedicated professionals passionate about making a real impact in special education. The assignment runs from August 2026 through May 2027 (subject to change), providing both structure and meaning throughout the academic year.

Your focus will be on delivering instruction and specialized supports for students in an autistic support classroom, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and fostering an inclusive environment that enables every learner to thrive.

What We're Looking For:

• Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Educator Certification (required)
• Experience teaching students with autism or in specialized support settings
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with families and school staff
• Creative approach to individualized instruction and behavior management
• Commitment to building trust and rapport with students of varying abilities
• Organizational skills to handle lesson planning, assessments, and tracking progress

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Provide direct instruction and classroom support tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Work closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other educators
• Foster a safe, positive, and structured learning environment
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on student achievements and growth
• Participate in professional development and faculty meetings
