Special Education Teacher | Jacksonville, Florida

Step into a pivotal role as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students in a self-contained Exceptional Student Education (ESE) setting. This rewarding contract opportunity allows you to make a tangible difference, guiding students with diverse learning profiles while collaborating closely with dedicated staff. You’ll work at a single school site within the Jacksonville area, primarily serving elementary learners—though there may be flexibility for other age groups based on your experience and preference.

Position Details:

• Contract runs from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027
• 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday
• On-site instruction only (virtual/VOCO positions are not available)
• One assigned school location within the northwestern district region

What We’re Seeking:

• Current Florida Exceptional Student Education (ESE) certification
• K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification
• Demonstrated experience in self-contained classrooms
• Comprehensive understanding of working with varying learning levels and exceptionalities
• Ability to build supportive, positive relationships with students, staff, and families
• Strong commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment

Additional Requirements:

• Completion of state-mandated fingerprinting; if previously completed, documentation or verification through the AHCA Clearinghouse will be requested
• Willingness to complete an eligibility interview and participate in a virtual prescreening process for suitability
