Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Prior experience or strong interest in Intellectual Disabilities (ID) programming
- Familiarity with interventions, behavior strategies, and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- A passion for working with upper elementary/intermediate grade levels (4th-6th)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and families
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Positive, flexible approach to meeting diverse student needs
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to a small caseload of students receiving ID programming
- Create, implement, and monitor individualized educational plans
- Adapt curriculum to accommodate various learning abilities and styles
- Utilize evidence-based practices to foster student growth in academic, social, and daily living skills
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive support services
- Maintain detailed progress records and participate in student review meetings
