This contract position offers the opportunity to engage with grades 6-8 in a self-contained setting, benefiting from the consistent assistance of paraprofessionals and BCBA/RBT access. With a flexible start date and a clear contract end of 5/26/27, this role provides stability along with the chance to shape student growth over multiple academic years.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching license (SPED), grades 4-8 required (EC-6th considered)
  • Experience or demonstrated dedication to working with students in self-contained classrooms
  • Comfort supporting mild/moderate disabilities; ability to individualize instruction
  • Strong collaboration skills for teaming with RBTs and paraprofessionals
  • Effective classroom management with a positive, student-centered focus

Core Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement engaging lessons tailored to a small caseload of approximately 10 students
  • Maintain a structured and supportive learning environment from 7:45am to 3:45pm, 37.5 hours weekly
  • Work closely with 1-2 paraprofessionals consistently present throughout the day
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to ensure each student’s educational progress
  • Adapt and modify curriculum as needed, focusing on academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth
  • Track progress, document interventions, and participate in IEP meetings
