Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement
  • Previous experience working with elementary-aged students in an inclusive or resource classroom
  • Strong understanding of IEPs, differentiated instruction, and behavior management strategies
  • Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with general education teachers, administrators, families, and support staff
  • Adaptable, patient, and genuinely passionate about fostering student growth

Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivering individualized and small group instruction within K-5 classrooms, promoting inclusion
  • Developing, implementing, and tracking appropriate accommodations and modifications per student IEPs
  • Collaborating with general education teachers to design lessons that reach diverse learning needs
  • Completing necessary documentation, assessments, and progress monitoring
  • Creating a positive and supportive environment where every student feels welcome and valued
  • Participating in team meetings and professional development to continue best practices
