An Oklahoma school district is seeking an experienced American Sign Language (ASL) Teacher to provide specialized instruction and communication support for a Deaf high school student. This position centers on teaching functional and academic ASL while supporting the student’s ability to access classroom instruction and confidently advocate for their needs.
Primary Duties:

Deliver structured ASL instruction tailored to the student’s language level and academic goals

Support communication access across the school day and reinforce classroom concepts as needed

Guide the student in developing self-advocacy and independent communication skills

Partner with teachers, special education staff, and support teams to ensure appropriate accommodations

Document progress and contribute to educational planning as required
Qualifications:

Valid Oklahoma Teaching License with Mild/Moderate Endorsement (required)

Sign Language endorsement strongly preferred

At least 2 years of experience working with American Sign Language in an educational or professional setting preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
