An Oklahoma school district is seeking an experienced American Sign Language (ASL) Teacher to provide specialized instruction and communication support for a Deaf high school student. This position centers on teaching functional and academic ASL while supporting the student’s ability to access classroom instruction and confidently advocate for their needs.

Primary Duties:

  • Deliver structured ASL instruction tailored to the student’s language level and academic goals

  • Support communication access across the school day and reinforce classroom concepts as needed

  • Guide the student in developing self-advocacy and independent communication skills

  • Partner with teachers, special education staff, and support teams to ensure appropriate accommodations

  • Document progress and contribute to educational planning as required

Qualifications:

  • Valid Oklahoma Teaching License with Mild/Moderate Endorsement (required)

  • Sign Language endorsement strongly preferred

  • At least 2 years of experience working with American Sign Language in an educational or professional setting preferred

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly pay: $33–$38
