Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher licensure (or eligibility) in Vermont.
  • Recent experience working with K-4th grade students across a mix of disabilities including learning disabilities (LD), Other Health Impairments (OHI), and Autism spectrum.
  • Familiarity with structured literacy approaches; training or certification in Orton Gillingham or Wilson Reading is highly desirable.
  • Strong skills in communication, collaboration, and flexible problem-solving.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 10-15 students (average 12 last year) between two elementary sites.
  • Deliver instruction, accommodations, and support tailored to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for K-4 students.
  • Collaborate actively with general education teachers, specialists, and families.
  • Utilize a 40-minute daily planning period for lesson preparation, paperwork, and IEP development.
  • Fulfill a full-time, 37.5-hour workweek (7:30am–3:30pm schedule).
  • Prepare for and attend IEP meetings and contribute to student evaluations and progress monitoring.
