Special Education Teacher - Jersey City, NJ

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid state certification in Special Education
• Experience in or strong knowledge of math or science instruction
• Proven background teaching or supporting high school students (grades 9–12)
• Expertise in adapting curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
• Comfortable managing a high school caseload and working within an interdisciplinary team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to foster a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction for students with special needs, focusing on Math or Science
• Develop and adapt lesson plans and instructional strategies to accommodate varying ability levels
• Collaborate with faculty, counselors, and families to support each student’s IEP
• Track and report on student progress, behaviors, and academic outcomes
• Participate in school meetings, professional development, and ongoing training
• Maintain documentation in compliance with state and federal requirements
