Special Education Teacher - Jersey City, New Jersey

Key Qualifications:

• Valid NJ Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility)
• Demonstrated background in Math or Science instruction, preferably at the high school level
• Experience supporting IEPs, progress monitoring, and curriculum differentiation for diverse learners
• Strong collaboration skills to partner with general education staff, related service providers, and families
• Ability to cultivate positive relationships while maintaining high educational standards
• Passion for working with high school students navigating recovery and individual challenges

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated Math or Science instruction to high school students receiving special education services
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
• Use innovative strategies to engage, inspire, and support a caseload of high school learners
• Maintain ongoing communication with families and document progress effectively
• Foster a safe, supportive classroom environment where every student can succeed
• Participate in professional development and team meetings as assigned
