Special Education Teacher in Jersey City, NJ

Based near Jersey City, NJ, this contract role stretches from August 31st to June 22nd, and features a daily schedule of 7:35 AM to 3:05 PM. You’ll play a vital role in providing in-class instructional support, ensuring up to 10 students per session receive the guidance and attention they need to thrive.

Your expertise will be utilized across five in-class support classes, collaborating closely with general education teachers and fostering inclusive learning environments. What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (required)
• Preferably prior experience working with high school students, but open to various K–12 backgrounds
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to individualized instruction and student advocacy
• Passion for supporting diverse learning needs within a classroom setting

Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instructional support during in-class sessions for up to 10 students at a time
• Adapt strategies to foster engagement, participation, and progress based on student needs
• Partner with classroom teachers to implement IEP accommodations and modifications effectively
• Monitor, document, and communicate student progress and areas for growth
• Foster a positive and supportive classroom culture where every learner feels valued
